PHOTO ARCHIVES

In the 1960's, Charles Clark and Doug Cutts began the practice of photographing the good catches brought in to their East Gainesville store, The Tackle Box. They couldn't have known at the time that these would be the beginnings of the greatest and most complete archive in existence of North Florida fishing. The anglers, their catches, the site of their catch, and, in some cases, the baits they used-thousands of shots recorded for future generations.

If you have a favorite Gainesville-area angler who might have brought a catch in for a picture between 1965 and 1990, just send us their name via email to tacklebox01@bellsouth.net or call us at 352-372-1791. We'll locate any photos of them and let you know what we have.
