Here at the Tackle Box, we have had a reel repair service since the

 1950’s, so  we know a good repairman when we see one. And we

 know that our reel repair technician, Brent, is the REEL DEAL!  

We think the best repairman in all of Florida. 

We have parts in stock for many popular reels… Shimano, Daiwa, Penn

and Garcia. Plus, we have some obsolete and hard to find parts.

These prices are for labor only which includes taking the reel apart, cleaning, greasing and repairing it (CGR). Parts and line will be added on. Certain models or reels that are in very bad condition may be more but you will be notified of this in advance. Our policy is to be reasonable in terms of not putting more money into a repair than approximately half of what the reel could be replaced for. If you would like to put a price limit on a repair please have it stated clearly on the repair tag, being sure that it is not less than the above stated prices, plus some allowance for parts. There is not a charge for estimates if they can be determined without taking the reel apart but it does add to the turnaround time. There is a $5.00 charge for estimates that require the repairman going into the reel. If you accept the estimate and have the repair done, the charge will be waived. Other than estimates, our repair department does not charge for items we cannot fix, even when we have time in them.  All of our repairs are done at our Gainesville store. Most repairs are ready within 10 to 14 days.

However, if we need to give an estimate or order parts it can cause a delay. Also, during our busiest season - April thru June - we may experience longer delays due to volume. If at all possible, to get quicker service, have regular maintenance done at other times.

When you send a reel in please include your name, mailing address, phone number and e-mail address. Include a description of any particular problems you are having and line preference if you want new line.
